With precise key results, we can evaluate strategies based on hard data, not on the “highest paid person's opinion” (HIPPO). By acknowledging failure and cleverly breaking down strategy into smaller experiments measured by KRs, we can achieve what we call “business agility”: In short iterations, we’ll be able to discover what brings value and what doesn’t. We can quickly learn and adapt to conditions and customers.
Why watch the episode?
- OKRs enable prioritization of tasks with regard to strategic company goals. Your mastery of OKRs will deepen.
- By watching the episode, your mastery of OKRs will deepen, this time in the area of creating good metrics - key results.
- With metrics, you’ll be able to evaluate what brought value and what needs to be done differently.
What will you take away?
- How to craft key results, how many there should be, and what they should cover.
- How to work with “soft” key results that can’t be measured exactly.
- How to handle key results that you formally check off as completed but don’t actually tell you if you were successful.
