SOCIETY: social impact of technology, ethics, bias, and digital responsibility
Don’t worry, in this episode of InspiRácia we won’t be speaking tech jargon! On the contrary! If you sometimes feel like you don’t understand IT folks, then you’re in the right place this time. Together with Bob Dohnal (founder of Revolgy) and Ladislav Lála (CIO of Prague Airport), we’ll have a clear and simple conversation about what the Cloud really is, the topic everyone’s talking about.
With a bit of exaggeration, you could say that in the future there will be only two types of companies: those that create technology and those that use technology. So every company will essentially be a tech company. And each will face the question of where to develop and operate their solutions — in the cloud or “in-house”?
During the live stream, you’ll also have the chance to ask our guests any questions you’re curious about. We’re looking forward to seeing you!
Why should you watch this episode and what will you take away?
- You’ll learn what cloud services are and what advantages or disadvantages they can bring to you and your company.
- You’ll understand how simple or complex, time-consuming or cost-intensive (or not), it is to migrate your existing company systems to the cloud.
- You’ll hear about the risks associated with the cloud and running systems in-house, helping you form an opinion on what’s more beneficial for you.
Who are the guests?
Bohuslav Dohnal
Bob founded his second company in 1996, now operating under the name Revolgy, which is a strategic partner of Google Cloud and AWS in Europe and helps customers achieve simpler and more accessible IT. Besides cloud, he’s skilled with a soldering iron, Python programming, business model transformation, and change management. He’s experienced what it’s like to lose 30 kg or build an international company.
Ladislav Lála
Ladislav leads IT development at an airport unmatched in the Czech Republic. Most of his professional career has been in the world of information technology. He has worked both on the client side and as a supplier and consultant. Among other roles, he managed IT at Poštová banka in Slovakia, IT infrastructure at Česká spořitelna, and operations at Fortuna Lottery. At Accenture, he delivered projects mainly in infrastructure and security. In his free time, he enjoys sport parachuting. His hobby has nothing to do with golden parachutes in business...
