Resilience
From the lecture, it quickly became clear that Professor Anna Hogenová cares deeply about the soul, which, it seems, suffers the most in our digital age – authenticity is fading and being "replaced" by emptiness and nothingness. The view of the present and responsibility was indeed somber, but flashes of hope also appeared. :-) From the depths of the past, we also drew thoughts and wisdom from great figures such as Socrates, Plato, Friedrich Nietzsche, Martin Heidegger, and Jan Patočka.
What was covered in the lecture?
- How to overcome fear, including the fear of death (a 2,700-year-old guide) – 13:10
- The one thing we must never allow in life, even though we do it all the time – 20:25
- What apparently no one among the "in-crowd" knows (and they clearly could use it) – 1:08:15
- What every person who has lost someone very close should know… – 1:25:10
Who is Anna Hogenová?
Professor Anna Hogenová is a prominent Czech philosopher, writer, and representative of the mysterious science of phenomenology, which focuses on the precise study of phenomena through experience. A frequent theme in her work is the question of how we care for our soul, which she approaches from the perspective of being, soul, and existence. She leads the Department of Philosophy and Ethics at PedF UK (Faculty of Education, Charles University). Besides academic works, Anna Hogenová has written books for the general public, which we definitely recommend reading.
Her life motto is: "Don’t let yourself be poisoned!" – she loves the philosophical works of Plato, Martin Heidegger, and Jan Patočka – she is the author of numerous books and scholarly publications on practical philosophy for life
