Join us as we explore the ideals and values of indigenous culture, comparing them with our own culture and existence, while also highlighting our increasingly shallow interests and lifestyles often driven by mass media.
Who is Mnislav Zelený?
Mnislav Zelený is a Czech ethnologist, writer, and publicist. His main focus is on the indigenous tribes of Latin America, especially the Amazon. Besides cultural anthropology, he is also interested in archaeology, history, and current conditions in South American countries, where he has undertaken numerous exploratory and research trips, during which he took many photographs. While living among the indigenous people in 1989, he was adopted into the Jawalapiti tribe and received the indigenous name Atapana (meaning Leaf of the green palm in Czech), which he uses as part of his name in his publications. From 1996 to 2001, he served as the ambassador of the Czech Republic to Colombia and Ecuador.
