Mark is a regular columnist for Fast Company magazine, and his contributions have been published in USA Today, Reuters, Forbes, Stanford Social Innovation Review, Huffington Post, Gallup, The Financial Times, CEO Magazine, Great Britain, and Seattle Times.
His two LinkedIn Pulse articles on inspiring 21st-century workers and managing millennials have been read over a million times. The second edition of his book debuted in August 2022 as an "Amazon #1 Release." His book has been taught at ten American universities, including the doctoral education program at University of Massachusetts Global and the MBA program at University of Iowa. His podcast Lead From The Heart ranks among the top 1.5% of podcasts worldwide and has listeners in 174 countries.
Before writing his book, Mark spent more than 20 years in the financial services world, where the stakes are high. He held two national-level positions at one of the largest American financial institutions, where he was named leader of the year. Unconventionally, Mark proved that deep care for people and their support, and thus positive influence on employees’ hearts, has a profound impact on motivating their sustained engagement, loyalty, and productivity. New and groundbreaking medical research, which Mark draws on in his book, shows that the heart is actually the driving force behind optimal human performance. Mark, a pioneer in leadership, shows us that rather than weak or soft leadership, heart-based leadership is the most informed and enlightened approach a manager or organization can take.
