There are many ways to approach feedback. Our three guests, along with the guide, will share how they do it. We’ll also cover some theory and reflect on allegorical excerpts from the Book of Five Rings.
Why watch the episode?
- You’ll get four dense 5-minute segments packed with practical tips and essential know-how from people who actively practice feedback in their organizations.
- You’ll gain immediately applicable tips you can implement in your teams and organizations.
What will you take away from the episode?
- How to create an environment suitable for regular feedback.
- Each guest will share a slightly different approach to giving feedback and working with it within a company.
- An answer to the question of whether it’s possible to learn to accept and give feedback :)
Who are the guests?
Petr Skondrojanis
Petr Skondrojanis has been working in HR for over 20 years. Throughout his career, he has worked on the supplier side and has always been interested in three things: a) the meaning of what he does, b) mutual respect, and c) professionalism. He describes himself as a humanocentrist because he works for people. People, their needs, perceptions, and relationships are at the forefront of everything he does. He says: "We all have strengths and weaknesses, we all make mistakes, and each of us is unique—and that diversity is what makes what I do so interesting."
Currently, he spends most of his time focusing on corporate cultures and enjoys meeting many great companies and talented people eager to create added value in their work. The world is more in order than it seems at first glance. And for him, even a traffic jam behind the wheel of a 50-year-old Austin Mini Cooper is an experience.
Radek Majer
Radek Majer founded his company TTC Teleport in 2015. He currently leads a team of 21 people who operate with complete transparency and provide data center services in a way that’s very different from the market norm. An open business model and tailor-made services for specific customers, a focus on ecology, care, sustainability, and a flat organizational structure are reasons why TTC Teleport is among the most interesting tech companies in the Czech Republic.
Radek has been guided by technology and pragmatism throughout his life but found his passion in changing old and established procedures and approaches. He says he’s terrified by the idea of doing the same things over and over that someone else has already invented and uses. He changes things around him so they make sense to him and his colleagues. Perhaps that’s why he compares tasks and daily activities at TTC Teleport to imaginary balloons that everyone picks from each morning when they arrive at work—to decide whether they’ll be an electrician or support that day.
Martina Kolářová
Martina Kolářová is co-founder of Mise HERo, where she has worked since 2011 as a trainer, methodologist, and leader of educational projects. At Mise HERo, she is proud that the company operates on self-management principles, allowing everyone to specialize and do what interests them and what they’re good at. For her, that’s education and development, which she’s been involved in for 10 years, and she is currently engaged with a project about future competencies.
Tomáš Vránek
Tomáš Vránek is CEO and founder of ICE Industrial Services. They say they prototype the company of the future. They are the first Czech industrial company to officially abolish hierarchical structure. Starting with four people in a garage, they now have over 300 million in revenue and will soon reach 200 employees. They are one of the fastest-growing automation companies in Europe. Tomáš Vránek is the founder and CEO. In 2019, he won the EY Entrepreneur of the Year award for the Vysočina Region. ICE strongly bases its decision-making on values and trust. They describe themselves as operating like a hockey locker room. They are gradually eliminating management and introducing self-managed teams and an organization based on agile principles and personal responsibility. They supply their machines and lines to 30 countries worldwide for customers such as Porsche, Scania, Amazon, and Tesla.
