Jan Černý focuses on molecular mechanisms of human diseases, cancer, and chimerism. He leads the cellular immunology laboratory at the Faculty of Science, Charles University. He is a recipient of the Neuron Award for fostering a love of science. He is involved in organizing international biology and science olympiads.
