An unexpectedly good Harry Potter fanfiction presents an alternate reality to the world of the well-known book series. The first part is already available for download on our website in a curated translation by Edita “Tersa” Neumannová.

This is a book that would rank among the longer ones in the HP series. On one hand, it takes the magical world much more seriously and tries to approach it more logically; on the other hand, it’s full of humor, jokes, and pop culture references.

The work, published gradually over five long years, covers Harry’s first year at Hogwarts and focuses mainly on the fates of Harry, Hermione, and Draco Malfoy. However, some key things are completely different—the differences start with the fact that Harry’s mother Petunia’s sister married an Oxford biochemistry professor, Verres-Evans, instead of Vernon Dursley. So Harry Potter-Verres-Evans is a confident eleven-year-old prodigy who, having learned about the existence of the magical world, which is completely outside the realm of science, intends to subject it to scientific examination. But to keep things challenging, his opponent is on a suitably higher level…
