Marv Shamma is today primarily recognized as a coach and mentor, helping people develop their strengths and discover their hidden potential. He has experienced a lot on his journey. Born in Baghdad, he survived two wars, lost part of his family and his home, and at the age of 12 moved to the Czech Republic, where he struggled with cultural and social challenges on the edge of childhood and adolescence. Later, he founded the company ONEPROVE (now known as Veracity Protocol) and the development platform Flowberry.

What will be discussed in the interview?

"If you want to change something in life, you need to change your environment too." Change doesn’t happen on its own. You have to help it along, and Marv shows from his own experience how to approach it.

"I don’t look for truth in people, but integrity." Why is long-term integrity so important to Marv? And why integrity rather than, say, values?

"At some point, you lose contact with your true self and start playing a game to please those around you. Then you quickly burn out." What tools does Marv use to prevent this, and what role does meditation play?

"Be the kind of person others want to catch up to. Not the kind that..." What was the best advice Marv ever received? Who gave it to him?

"I don’t think you can grow if you have everything and live in comfort." Why develop yourself and what motivates us to grow? How can we work with that? What is the concept of reskill and upskill that changed Marv’s perspective during his studies at Hyper Island?

Who is Marv Shamma?

Marv was born in Baghdad, survived two wars, experienced his father as a political prisoner, and lost part of his family and his home. At the age of 12, he moved to the Czech Republic, where on the edge of childhood and adolescence he struggled with cultural and social challenges, especially in his effort to quickly adapt and understand a new mindset. This extreme situation still helps him see the world from different perspectives and believe that behind every challenge lies a huge opportunity.

In 2005, he graduated in artificial intelligence from the University of West Bohemia and later studied Change Management & Digital Transformations at Sweden’s Hyper Island. That’s why he enjoys combining trends in technology with experience in building his own startups and a passion for talent management and development.

Marv is the founder of the Flowberry platform, where he focuses on talent development and team dynamics. In 2015, he co-founded the company ONEPROVE, now known as Veracity Protocol.
