This is what Lukáš Hána, consultant and critical thinking lecturer, founder of the #krimyš project, says about the book.

People tend to see what they want to see. We suffer from what Julia Galef calls the “soldier mindset.” We are wired to defend the ideas we want to believe in and reject others. However, if we want to perceive reality more accurately, we should practice the “scout mindset.”
Unlike a soldier, a scout isn’t focused on defending one particular side. Their task is to look around, explore the territory, and return with the most accurate map possible. Regardless of their own preferences, a scout primarily wants to know the true state of affairs.
In her book, Julia Galef explains how much our brain deceives us and how to use critical thinking more effectively. She shows that people with a “scout” mindset don’t owe their more accurate perception of reality to being smarter or more educated than others, but rather to a handful of emotional skills, habits, and ways of looking at the world.
And this very skill is something you can now master too, thanks to this book.
