What was covered in the lecture?
Physical phenomena are the same in our home, in cutting-edge laboratories, and in the depths of the universe. We quickly moved from a cup of tea to Mach’s principle, from ice skating and skiing to the tricky problems of modern surface physics, and from the microwave oven to radiation from the edge of the Big Bang. A series of brief reflections on phenomena we encounter every day without realizing how deeply they relate to fundamental natural laws.
Plus, we learned that we actually don’t know that much about the universe… :-)
