URNA (the acronym for the Rapid Deployment Unit of the Czech Police) is a special police unit called into action in particularly dangerous situations, such as neutralizing an armed offender. URNA operatives are recruited exclusively from police officers (with a minimum service length of 5 years) and undergo several levels of tests — both physical and psychological — as they must be prepared for anything. Thanks to chief instructor Major Jiří Laňka, who is responsible for URNA’s training, they most likely will be. :-)
We believe that during the interview you’ll not only be entertained and prompted to think, but you might also get ideas on how to shed your animal instincts. And above all, watch out for the hero syndrome! ;-)
What was covered in the lecture?
- The biggest problem URNA currently faces (and nobody talks about it) – 02:11
- What “gear” Jiří definitely does not recommend carrying if you want to defend yourself against a possible attack – 12:25
- What you should definitely NOT do when the police come to rescue you (you’d almost certainly do at least one thing) – 15:40
- Why, in his view, evil exists in the world even though God is all-powerful? – 27:09
