In the best case, you'll be seen as a weirdo; in the worst, you might even get the police called on you. If you want to meet people and be in the know today, create a profile on Tinder. Well, this probably doesn't apply to all generations yet, but it's becoming an increasingly accepted norm even among older boomers like me. In Europe, more than 20% of romantic relationships now start online. 53% of Gen Z Europeans prefer communicating via social media over meeting in person, and 40% consider online “friendships” to be just as valuable as in-person ones. The frequency of first dates is also rising, and logically, so is the number of those that turn out to be last dates. We also have less and less time for face-to-face meetings with friends. Even for the younger generation, the daily time spent in physical contact with friends has dropped from three hours to less than one hour over the past 20 years.
Listen to another multigenerational Boomer / Zoomer confrontation, which premiered as a LIVE TALK with guests on the podcast platforms Spotify and Soundcloud and on the 6D YouTube channel.
