In the meantime, the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the shelling of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant occurred, which, according to Dana Drábová herself, shattered her previous world. In the interview, we also touched on this very unusual situation, although we tried to place this touch within context and background.

In the next part of the interview, Dana Drábová described Chernobyl as the event that clearly had the biggest impact on the fear of nuclear energy. We discussed topics such as nuclear fusion, the threat called blackout or the Green Deal as a possible way out of Europe’s dependence on fossil fuels. Who is Dana Drábová?

Dana Drábová is a Czech nuclear physicist, local and regional politician. Since 1999, she has been the chairwoman of the State Office for Nuclear Safety. Since 2010, she has also been the deputy mayor of Pyšely, and from 2016 to 2017, she was a representative of the Central Bohemian Region.
